should I get waxing or tinting prior to my appointment?
During your appointment day, Sheridan will shape your brows, but she can only perform plucking to maintain skin integrity before the procedure. If your eyebrows are notably bushy, we recommend scheduling a waxing session a week in advance to tidy them up. Additionally, please refrain from tinting your eyebrows within the two weeks leading up to your appointment. It's important to ensure that your brows are free from any Henna Tint as well.
how do I select my style?
The choice of brow style we tattoo is influenced by your skin type and the specific aesthetic you desire. You can find detailed information about each style here.
For those with dry to normal skin types, any style is suitable, ensuring optimal longevity. However, if you have oily skin or your skin has experienced a decrease in collagen (common in mature clients), we recommend opting for a style created using a digital cosmetic tattoo machine, such as Ombre Brows, Powder Brows, or combination brows. Utilizing a machine for color implantation enhances durability on oily skin in comparison to Microblading (Feather Touch Brows) and is particularly gentle on mature or compromised skin types.
If you find yourself uncertain, we offer complimentary in-salon consultations, and any style you select when booking online can be easily adjusted on the day of the treatment.
what can I expect to look like after my treatment?
Right after your procedure, you may notice that the color appears 20-50% darker than your chosen shade. However, this dark appearance will gradually soften as the skin undergoes a natural healing process, during which the top layer of skin, known as the epidermis, sheds and renews itself. This exfoliation typically occurs within 7-10 days. As the skin heals and renews, you may experience mild itching, which is considered a positive sign of healing. There might also be slight swelling or redness, but these effects typically diminish within 24-48 hours. In general, you can resume your regular activities after the treatment. To ensure optimal results, please follow the recommended post-procedure treatment cream as advised
where are you located?
We are a home base salon and are located in the beautiful area of the Sunshine Cove in Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
how long does it last?
Generally speaking, eyebrow treatments last approximately anywhere from 9-24 months. Many environmental factors will affect the pigment longevity and also your lifestyle, skin type, medications and hormones. For example, an oily skin type may not hold the pigment for as long as someone with dry skin. It is recommended to return for a retouch appointment every 12-24 months to ensure your cosmetic tattoo is always looking fresh.

will it fade and why?
Yes it does!
It's perfectly normal for Cosmetic Tattoo Treatments to naturally fade over time. The pigments we use are distinct from body art ink in terms of composition. Our pigments consist of smaller molecules that gradually break down over time, as opposed to the larger molecule size found in body art inks, which do not fade. This fading characteristic is advantageous because it allows you the flexibility to explore a different look when you return for a color refresh.
what factors will affect my tattoo
Several individual and lifestyle factors can impact the durability of your cosmetic tattoo. These include:
-
Prolonged sun exposure can lead to fading of the tattoo's color. It's advisable to apply sunscreen to the treated areas to enhance its longevity.
-
Lighter pigments, such as blonde, tend to fade more quickly than darker brown pigments.
-
Smoking can expedite the fading of a cosmetic tattoo.
-
Bleeding during the procedure affects the amount of pigment absorbed into the skin. The practitioner should be informed about any blood-thinning medication, and discontinuing such medications before the appointment is recommended. It's advisable to consult your local GP before making any changes to your medication regimen.
can I get my perfection visit earlier than 4 weeks?
No, it typically requires 4 weeks for the treatment to fully heal and for the color to stabilize. Touch-up appointments for eyebrows are typically scheduled between 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment. Please keep this second appointment in mind when your are booking your initial booking.
